Hampton police are trying to identify two people accused of breaking into a hotel room and stealing items, an official said.

The incident happened about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Red Roof Inn at 1925 Coliseum Drive, police spokesman Sgt. Matt Bond said in a news release.

Police think the two went inside a hotel room and took miscellaneous electronic items and personal belongings of the guest assigned to the room, Bond said.

They were then seen walking away from the hotel on Coliseum Drive toward West Mercury Boulevard.

Police obtained video surveillance of the suspects. One suspect is described as a black female, about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 and 135 to 155 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket over a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood of the sweatshirt pulled up over her head, animal print leggings, and blue and white tennis shoes. The second suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, and 215 to 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue knit watch cap, a black coat with a fur lined hood, and blue jeans.

Anyone who can identify the suspects is asked to call the police division at 757-727-6111 or the anonymous Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at P3Tips.com.
