A 68-year-old Hampton woman was killed in a crash in Norfolk Tuesday, police said.
The crash happened on the Roland Park overpass, in the 6400 block of Tidewater Drive, about 6 a.m., Norfolk police said in a news release.
Responding officers and medics found three vehicles that were involved in the crash. Janis B. Neal, 68, of the 1100 block of Old Buckroe Road in Hampton, died at the scene, police said.
A 48-year-old driver of a Cadillac was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and is expected to be OK. A 27-year-old man driving a Chevrolet was not injured, police said.
Investigators think the driver of the Cadillac was traveling northbound on Tidewater Drive when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the median. The Cadillac hit a southbound Ford Escort, driven by Neal, head-on. The Escort was pushed into the Chevrolet that was driving in the same direction, police said.
Police do not think alcohol was a factor in the incident. The crash is under investigation, police said.
