Newport News police are asking for help finding a man accused of injuring a 6-month-old boy.

Officers and medics responded shortly before noon Tuesday to a home in the 100 block of Robinson Drive in reference to a “code blue” involving a six-month-old boy, police spokeswoman Jamie Bastas said in a news release.

The child was taken to the hospital and is reported to be stable, Bastas said.

Officers investigating the incident determined that the boy’s injuries were inflicted to him. They obtained warrants charging 24-year-old Denzel Lamar Arrington, of the 100 block of Robinson Drive, in connection with the incident, Bastas said.

Arrington is wanted on charges of aggravated malicious wounding and felony child abuse and neglect, according to Bastas.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip via www.p3tips.com/1151. Tipsters remain anonymous and never have to testify in court. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.
