Police: Thieves break out window of Hampton Metro PCS, steal cellphones

Hampton police are trying to identify two people accused of breaking out a window of a Metro PCS store and stealing cellphones early Monday morning, an official said.

The incident happened at the store at 1959 E. Pembroke Ave., police spokesman Sgt. Matt Bond said in a news release.

There, police found that someone had broken one of the front windows of the business. Inside, multiple cellphones were taken, Bond said.

Police obtained surveillance footage of the incident, which captured two suspects. One was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a red border around the hood, dark colored pants and dark tennis shoes. The second suspect was seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark tennis shoes, Bond said.

Police ask that anyone who might have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area or recognizes the suspects’ clothing to call the police division at 757-727-6111 or the anonymous Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
