Dems in Panic! AOC Threatens Democrats to Campaign for Georgia’s Blue Senate Contenders

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and CNN’s Jake Tapper had an interesting conversation over the weekend. The senatorial runoffs are about to take place in Georgia. AOC is so concerned about these runoffs that she is willing to personally campaign in the state of Georgia.

She’s going to personally explain the virtues of the far left, or something. We truly have no clue. The Democrat voters have already been sufficiently pandered to in the state of Georgia. After all, isn’t this what they keep Stacey Abrams around for? The exchange between Tapper and AOC was notable for a number of reasons but we’ll let our readers be the judge.

“Biden is planning a wave of executive orders to roll back some of Trump’s policies once he takes office, on everything from climate to the so-called Muslim ban. As of now, however, it looks as though Republicans, at least until January, will hold control of the Senate. That’s going to complicate your desire and the desire of other progressives for bold, sweeping, progressive legislation.

I mean, theoretically, you can pass anything you want in the House, but it doesn’t matter if it goes to die in the Senate. How are you going to negotiate that? Are you going to work with more moderate Senate Republicans to try to pass something in the House that can get through the Senate?” Tapper inquired.

“Well, I’m going to be spending my next couple of months doing everything that I can to extend help and offer support to the work of fantastic leaders that we just heard from like Stacey Abrams to make sure that we don’t have a Republican Senate majority, that we win these races in Georgia, that we secure a Democratic Senate majority, so that we don’t have to negotiate in that way,” Ocasio-Cortez replied.

Who does she think she is? This isn’t the most winning strategy that she could have come up with. Both senatorial campaigns received far more Republican votes than Democrat, so we are not sure why any Democrat thinks that the state is winnable. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock don’t seem to want anything to do with AOC’s progressive agendas either.

They’ve been distancing themselves from her policies as much as possible. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler would probably love it if AOC stormed down there to push any undecided voters in their direction with her leftist firebrand rhetoric. There are some GOP members who might be willing to offer up their own donations.

The longer she stays in Georgia, the better it is for them. Even Politico does not seem high on her latest bit of tomfoolery. “Ocasio-Cortez, on some occasions, counts as one of the party’s freshest and most-appealing new voices. Her sour interview Saturday with the Times’ Astead W. Herndon was not one of these occasions,” said Politico’s John Harris. He wasn’t done there, either.

AOC is finally being taken to task by observers on all sides because of her insistence on self-referential commentary. It always seems to be about her and less about the party. Sure, she’ll work some references to the party into her diatribes but it’s easy to see what this is all about: her. “She plausibly asserted that she knows a lot more than most members about the effective use of social media.

She implausibly suggested that if more members had used Facebook effectively, and accepted her help when she was practically begging to give it, the Democrats could have avoided the losses which leave Pelosi clinging to a narrow majority. “Every single [member] that rejected my help is losing,” she complained, “and now they’re blaming us for the loss.” She gets so frustrated by the lack of support from fellow Democrats, she said, that she considered not running for reelection,” Harris continued.

AOC believes that mobilization is the key but this strategy favored the GOP during this election cycle. Persuasion and negotiation are simply not her strong suits. It’s time for her to go back to the drawing board and find herself a clue.
